He wrote, #OxygenExpress has reached Delhi from Raigarh,Chhattisgarh with Oxygen for patients in the capital. The Delhi government has been advised to arrange road tankers to move the oxygen to hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amid shortage of oxygen to treat coronavirus patients, the railways has taken an initiative to transport medical oxygen from Angul, Kalingnagar, Rourkela and Raigarh to Delhi and NCR region, said Railway Board Chairman Suneet Sharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past few days, the Delhi hospitals have been sending SOS messages seeking help on social media and other platforms, flagging their scarcity of oxygen supply to treat virus patients who are hospitalised.Thereafter, the railways has chalked out a plan to run Oxygen Express trains to transport liquid medical oxygen and oxygen cylinders across the country in view of the high demand for oxygen after an exponential surge in virus cases in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national capital on Monday recorded the highest single-day rise in its Covid-19 death toll with 380 more people succumbing to the infection while the positivity rate stood at over 35 per cent, according to the data released by the city health department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/pm-modi-joe-biden-telephonic-conversation-covid-19\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/pm-modi-joe-biden-telephonic-conversation-covid-19\/\">PM Modi, Joe Biden speak on phone, discuss Covid after US offers help, PM calls it fruitful conversation<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, a train carrying three tankers loaded with 44 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen arrived at Kalamboli near Mumbai from Jamnagar in Gujarat for the delivery of more liquid medical oxygen to Maharashtra. It was the second &#8216;Oxygen Express&#8217; to arrive in Maharashtra, which is facing a shortage of liquid medical oxygen due to a sharp surge in COVID-19 cases.
