He strongly feels that corruption has been a major hindrance in the progress of the state.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with <em>APN<\/em> on Wednesday, Rawat said that cases of corruption have been forwarded to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and that his BJP government had been working on having a Lokayukta (ombudsman) with modifications. He asserted that eradication of corruption will lead to multi-faceted development.<\/p>\n<p>He dwelt briefly on the corruption prevalent during the previous Congress governments in the state. He said that his government had taken decisions for furthering progressive development.<\/p>\n<p>Observers feel that the BJP government has prioritised the eradication of corruption in order to create more jobs and discourage migration from the state.<\/p>\n<p>Rawat has been personally screening files of various projects started by the previous government.
