An Indian national who was working in Israel as a housemaid has been killed in a Palestinian rocket at Ashkelon, her family members in India said. The woman belonged to Indian state of Kerala. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her family members, the rocket fell on the residence of 31-year old Soumya in the city of Ashkelon while she was talking to her husband Santhosh, over video call in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santhosh’s brother Saji said his brother heard a huge explosion during the video call and suddenly the phone got disconnected. After this the family members called fellow Malyalees working in Israel. Thus, they came to know about the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soumya Santosh, who hailed from Kerala’s Idukki district, worked as a caregiver in an elderly woman’s house in the southern Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon. Ashkelon, which borders the Gaza Strip, has come under massive fire from the Palestinian terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, state BJP chief and the current Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, V. Murleedharan condoled the death of the 31-year-old. He also condemned the attacks and the violence in Jerusalem, and urged restraint by both sides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
