A 42 year-old man died of burn injuries in Haryana’s Jhajjar in the early hours of Thursday after four men allegedly sprinkled some inflammable material over him and set him afire on Wednesday. The four accused are part of the farmers’ protest at Tikri border near Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After registering a murder case against four men, the Haryana Police said the man has been identified as Mukesh, a resident of Kasra village in Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district of Haryana,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the basis of the FIR lodged by Mukesh’s brother, the police said four men, who are part of the ongoing farmers’ agitation at the Tikri border, allegedly set Mukesh on fire on Wednesday evening. The complainant also alleged that the four accused were in an inebriated state at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saying that the investigation is underway, the police in a statement said it was not clear why four men allegedly sprinkled some inflammable material and set Mukesh on fire. However, One of the accused has been identified and he is a resident of Jind in Haryana, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday, the family members of Mukesh and some villagers held a protest and demanded compensation for his next of kin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha accused the Haryana government of defaming the ongoing farmers’ protest and said Mukesh\u2019s was a case of suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Denying the Haeyana Police claim that Mukesh was succumbed by the four men, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the umbrella organisation heading the farmers’ protest said the allegations levelled against the farmers’ body were merely a ploy to defame the farmers protest which is ongoing from the last 9 months peacefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the SKM leaders Darshan Pal and Balbir Singh Rajewal alleged that the deceased set himself ablaze and noticing this, the protest members had rushed to put out the fire and save the man’s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the continuous efforts to defame and slander the ongoing farmers\u2019 movement, an unfortunate case of suicide by a local villager is being used by the BJP government, its political agents and their troll army to somehow implicate the farmers\u2019 movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
