{"id":142079,"date":"2021-06-30T15:08:14","date_gmt":"2021-06-30T09:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=142079"},"modified":"2021-06-30T16:05:54","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T10:35:54","slug":"loni-assault-case-up-police-nsa-sp-leader-ummed-pehelwan-idris-fb-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/loni-assault-case-up-police-nsa-sp-leader-ummed-pehelwan-idris-fb-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Loni assault case: UP police invokes NSA against SP leader Ummed Pehelwan Idris who appeared in FB Live"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a recent development in the Loni assault case of an elderly man, the Samajwadi leader Ummed Pehelwan Idris has been charged with National Security Act (NSA) on Wednesday by the Uttar Pradesh Police for appearing in Facebook live video, that allegedly provoked communal sentiments.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ghaziabad Police had registered a case against Idris under Indian Penal Code sections 295a (act intended to outrage religious feelings), 153a (promoting enmity), 505 (mischief), 504 (intentional insult), and 120b (conspiracy), and section 67 of the IT act. He was arrested on June 19 and later sent to jail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ghaziabad police officers, the Home Department has granted due approval to invoke NSA against Idris. However, the UP police said he was lying, that it was not a communal incident as implied in tweets but the man was attacked by six men who were upset over amulets he had sold them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the victim\u2019s family had denied the police\u2019s claims saying that police are wrong in saying that he used to sell tabeez (amulets).
