India’s Covid vaccination rate dropped by 68% on Wednesday over a week after India hit a global record of administering over 86 lakh Covid vaccine doses on June 21, the highest in a day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the health ministry data, India administered just 27.6 lakh Covid vaccine doses on Wednesday, the day India’s vaccination drive completed 166 days on Wednesday while on Thursday India\u2019s Covid-19 vaccination coverage stood at 33.57 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Administering only 17.21 lakh doses on June 27, the lowest in the last 15 days, India had recorded a drop of 80% in Covid vaccine doses from June 21 numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All above 18 years of age are being provided free Covid vaccines under the Centre’s new vaccination policy which procures 75% vaccines and transferred to the states for free distribution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Till June 26, India was vaccinating more than 50 lakh people each day and over 60 lakh people were vaccinated each day between June 23 to 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, 52.76 lakh people were vaccinated while on Tuesday, 36.51 lakh people were given Covid doses which was further dropped to 27.6 lakh on Wednesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of average per day vaccination, India has vaccinated 20.22 lakh people each day between January 16 \u2014 the beginning of the vaccination drive \u2014 and June 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among all the months, the average per day vaccination rate of India was highest in June \u2013 39.85 lakh \u2013 nearly double of the average of the entire drive (20.22 lakh) and also May (19.72 lakh). April recorded nearly 30 lakh vaccinations each day on an average. For March, this number was 16.39 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive started on January 16 in India for health workers and other essential frontline workers. In phase 2 from March 1, India has further extended the policy to for the age group of 45-59 years. From April 1, those above 45 years were eligible. From May 1, the Centre started the liberalised and accelerated Phase 3 Strategy of Covid-19 vaccination, under which everyone above the age of 18 was eligible to get vaccine against Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other India News, the IMD said, the temperature in Delhi likely to see a dip, the minimum temperature on Friday is likely to stand at 31 degree while the maximum temperature likely to go around 41 degrees Celsius<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
