Despite the Taliban occupying almost the whole of Afghanistan, there is still an area from where the war against the Taliban can start. There is also a capable leader who can lead this war. Afghanistan’s former Vice President Amrullah Saleh has categorically refused to lay down arms before the Taliban. Despite the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul, he neither left the country nor struggled. By the time the Taliban reached Kabul, Saleh had gone underground. He is believed to have reached the Panjshir Valley, northeast of Kabul. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Afghanistan, most parts of the country, including Kabul, have been captured by the Taliban. Despite this, there are many areas where people are raising the flag of rebellion against the Taliban. One of these is the Panjshir Valley, the stronghold of Ahmad Shah Massoud, a former commander of the Northern Alliance. This area is located near the Hindukush mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taliban has seized control of Kabul on Sunday after which President Ashraf Ghani fled the country. Along with him, there were reports of many leaders and officials associated with the government also leaving the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before going underground, Afghanistan’s defiant vice president Saleh on Sunday tweeted that he would not bow down to the Taliban under any circumstances. His tweet comes at a time when the Afghan government and the Taliban are in talks for a peaceful transfer of power. He wrote: I will never, ever and under no circumstances bow to the Taliban terrorists. I will never betray the soul and legacy of my hero Ahmad Shah Masoud, the commander, the legend and the guide. I won’t disappoint millions who listened to me. I will never be under one ceiling with Taliban. NEVER.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
