Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening chaired a high-level security meeting to assess the situation of Afghanistan. In the meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Afghanistan Ambassador Rudrendra Tandon, who was evacuated from Kabul on Tuesday morning were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, PM Modi asked the officials to make sure of the safe evacuation of the Indian national from Afghanistan in the coming days. Apart from this, he also said that India will not only protect the citizens of our country but will also provide refuge to the Sikh and Hindu minorities who are willing to come to India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further said that India will make sure to provide help and assistance to the Afghan brothers and sisters who are looking forward to India for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also reported that the Cabinet Committee on Security was briefed about the current and the coming security and political situation in Afghanistan and the recent evacuations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about the evacuation of people in Kabul, on Sunday, India evacuated the staffers from the embassy in Kabul. Two Air Force planes from India has evacuated as many people as they can. It is reportedly said that in the coming days, more people will be evacuated from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon after the evacuation, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in a tweet said that the movement of the Indian Ambassador and the Embassy staff from Kabul to India was a complicated exercise. He further thanked the people because it was only possible because of the cooperation and the facilitation, which made it possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
