The AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said the people, who have vandalized his residence yesterday, were emboldened by the BJP government.

In an interview with NDTV, he said it was the fourth incident of vandalism at his official residence in Delhi. The first attack happened in 2015 when Rajnath Singh was his neighbour.

Owaisi also alleged that these people are emboldened by the BJP. This time they came with axe and threw stones inside his home. Calling them the real radical elements, he said the whole bigotry is an issue of how hatred has been created in India. This time attackers come with video cameras which clearly shows how sure they are of not facing the consequences after vandalising an MP’s house, Owaisi said.

The Hyderabad Parliamentarian also said last month’s blatantly communal slogans at a right-wing event at Jantar Mantar showed how pervasive the sentiment had become. The fact of the matter is that this is how all these right-wing groups are operating the country as they don’t have fear of law. They don’t believe in rule of law. They are the most radicalised element of the country, Owaisi said.

Five Hindu Sena members were arrested by the Delhi Police on Tuesday for vandalising Owaisi’s residence at Delhi’s Ashoka Road

As per the early inputs, the Delhi Police said the incident took place at around 5 pm, although nobody was attacked or injured in the incident, public property was damaged, police said.

In a video clip that is viral on social media, the Hindu Sena chief Lalit Kumar said they went to Owaisi’s residence to teach him a lesson as he speaks against Hindus at his rallies.
