Two farmers died as a result of the incident, which led to a huge outcry, the police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmers were protesting against the government\u2019s three farm bills ahead of an event at Union Minister Ajay Mishra\u2019s paternal village in Lakhimpur-Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. UP deputy DM Keshav Prasad Maurya was supposed to be the chief guest of the event. Ashish Mishra on his way to receive Dy CM Maurya allegedly ran his car over protesting farmers, due to which 2 farmers died on the spot while more than 10 farmers are heavily injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/SD_SAHOTA\/status\/1444636890485833741\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the incident, the angry farmers retaliated by setting three vehicles on fire, including that of Union Minister Ajay Mishra\u2019s son Ashish Mishra. As per the latest reports, the farmers have continued to protest and the situation has turned tense in Tikunia.
