Apple has rolled out the much awaited iOS 15 update for iPhone users, which comes with several feature upgrades. FaceTime, Apple\u2019s video-calling app gets a massive upgrade, allows iPhone users to FaceTime with Android users. It’s the first time that’s been possible. Previously, FaceTime calls were limited to people using iPhones, iPads and Macs. But now FaceTime can be used for both Android and PC users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple\u2019s new iOS 15 now makes it easy to FaceTime, when you start a FaceTime call from iPhone, you can invite people using other gadgets, like a Windows computer or, an Android phone. The person using iPhone can just create and share a Web link with the Android user to FaceTime with them. However, there is no Android-specific FaceTime app. To access the call, a browser is required: the latest versions of Google Chrome (Android) or Microsoft Edge (Android) are supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step-by-step guide to FaceTime with Android users:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Install iOS 15 in your iPhone, if you haven\u2019t already.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Open the FaceTime app on your iPhone or iPad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. After opening the app, you can find two options called \u2018Create Link\u2019 and \u2018New FaceTime\u2019. Tap the “Create Link” button on the top left.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. When you select Create Link on FaceTime, You can also add a name to this FaceTime call. You can send it via a text message, email or through any third-party messaging apps on your device.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. You’ll see the main FaceTime screen after you’ve sent the link to a friend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.  Now tap on \u2018FaceTime link\u2019 on the left to start the call from your iPhone and tap join.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Now anyone who has the link can click it and request to join the call.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were reports that, during pandemic, there was massive surge in video calling\/meeting apps, especially on Android. Apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams grabbed the opportunity, while Aplle\u2019s FaceTime was limited to only its users. Now Apple also wants to join the videocalling forefront, even if it\u2019s a year late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
