Traveling by train is considered as an easy, convenient beneficial for the passengers. The Indian Railway provides many facilities to its passengers especially on online ticket booking through IRCTC website, one of which is the travel insurance in just 50 paise. What can you buy for 50 paise?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers you an insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh at a near-zero premium of 49 paise. While booking train tickets through the IRCTC website, the passengers have the option of choosing travel insurance.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whenever a customer books a train ticket online, he\/she must have noticed an option of 49 paise travel insurance. Often people have clicked on that but don’t they don’t know that for what reason the 49 have been deducted from their account and what will be the benefit of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In just 49 paise, the Railway gives travel insurance worth lakhs of rupees to the passengers that covers everything from theft to train accidents during the journey. If an accident occurs during the journey, then the benefit of insurance will be given to the passenger or his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the IRCTC’s ticketing rules, the benefit of travel insurance of Rs 10 lakh is available for confirmed tickets or RAC passengers. Passengers with waiting list ticket would not be benefitted from the travel insurance. Apart from this, children below five years of age do not get this benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IRCTC’s travel insurance covers death, permanent total disability, permanent partial disability and hospitalization expenses for injury and transportation of mortal remains following rail accident or untoward incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While online ticket booking, a passenger needs to click on the travel insurance. Following this, the passenger will receive the policy information through SMS on their registered email IDs directly from insurance companies. A link will be provided to file the nomination details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After booking the ticket, the passenger has to filled the details at the respective insurance company site. Once the premium is paid by the passengers no cancellations is allowed, said IRCTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
