Clashes erupted in Srinagar on the morning of Eid between the locals and security personnel outside the Eidgah — a massive ground located in downtown Srinagar.<\/p>\n

The Eidgah was one of the areas where the government had put certain restrictions on Eid prayers. The clashes started in the morning after the locals came and offered namaz.<\/p>\n

According to a report, the local police was forced to burst teargas shells to disperse the protesting crowd.<\/p>\n

Witnesses and reports said that forces burst teargas shells after the protesters started throwing stones at them.<\/p>\n

Clashes were also reported from Anantnag too.<\/p>\n

Last week, a similar incident took place where in the valley some men attending prayers at the Jama Masjid in downtown Srinagar brutally lynched Kashmiri policeman Mohammed Ayub Pandith near the shrine.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the state police has issued a security related advisory to its personnel on the festival of Eid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are advised to instruct the field and subordinate formations that they shall not offer Id prayers in isolated or general mosques or idgahs,\u201d read an advisory. It said police personnel will offer Id prayers in mosques in district police lines in Srinagar.<\/a><\/p>\n

This is the second such security related advisory to police personnel in the Valley in a little over two months.
