The Delhi government on Thursday urged the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to ban entry of unvaccinated people in metros, buses, cinema halls, malls, religious places, restaurants, monuments, public parks, government offices and public places from December 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal on the ban wasn’t, therefore, discussed and is likely to be brought up at the next DDMA meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its proposal, the Delhi government suggested the DDMA to ban the entry of those who have received only one Covid jab to access the entry into these places from March 31, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government proposal also suggested DDMA to give incentives like cash prizes or discounts for taking Covid vaccine before the proposed date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With these suggestions, the Delhi government has joined hands with many European countries, where a vaccine passport system limits access to public venues for unvaccinated people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, the European countries offer incentives for their vaccinated citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the emergence new Covid variant Omicron, the full or partial vaccination is now considered to be critical for stopping the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
