At least thirteen civilians have died and several injured by security forces in the firing incident in the Tiru village area in Mon district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After this incident, tension has been gripped all over Nagaland, the locals have reportedly set two vehicles of security forces on fire. According to multiple reports, a group of people from Oting village, who were returning home in a pick-mini van, were shot down by security forces. The locals said that the villagers went looking for them after they didn\u2019t return to their home for several hours, but after a long search, villagers found their dead bodies in the same van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After this incident, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condemned the killings of civilians and assured a high-level SIT probe for the matter and urged everyone for peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The unfortunate incident leading to killing of civilians  at Oting, Mon is highly condemnable.Condolences to the bereaved families &amp; speedy recovery of those injured. The Indian army regretted the aftermath of this operation and loss of unfortunate lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Based on credible intelligence of likely movement of insurgents, a specific operation was planned to be conducted in the area of Tiru, Mon District, Nagaland. The incident and its aftermath are deeply regretted. The cause of the unfortunate loss of lives is being investigated at the highest level and appropriate action will be taken as per the course of law.
