{"id":227123,"date":"2021-12-08T19:39:45","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T14:09:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=227123"},"modified":"2021-12-08T20:13:46","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T14:43:46","slug":"rohit-sharma-odi-captain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/sports-news\/rohit-sharma-odi-captain\/","title":{"rendered":"Rohit Sharma appointed new ODI captain, Virat Kohli to lead Test squad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rohit Sharma, who had taken over the charge of India&#8217;s T20I captain last month, on Wednesday replaced India&#8217;s ODI skipper Virat Kohli who had stepped down after ending team India&#8217;s T20 World Cup campaign.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahead of South Africa tour, Sharma will also take over from Ajinkya Rahane as the Test vice-captain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharm had won his first T20I series against the T20 World Cup New Zealand under the team India&#8217;s new head coach Rahul Dravid.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The All India senior selection committee took this decision and picked an 18-member squad for the Test series against South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per reports, the selection committee was headed by former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma, Abey Kuruvilla, and Debashish Mohanty.
