Indian Test team captain Virat Kohli on December 8, was sacked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after refusing to give up the captaincy of the ODI team. Rohit Sharma, who a month ago replaced Kohli as T20 captain, has also been named the new ODI captain of the Indian team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per reports BCCI had given an ultimatum of 48 hours to Virat Kohli to announce his removal from the ODI captain, but he refused to do so, as the cricketer wanted to lead the team to at least ICC World Cup 2023. When Kohli didn’t announce his removal from the role of captaincy in ODI, BCCI sacked him and named Rohit Sharma as the new captain of the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
