{"id":23494,"date":"2017-08-07T17:57:12","date_gmt":"2017-08-07T12:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=23494"},"modified":"2017-08-07T17:59:22","modified_gmt":"2017-08-07T12:29:22","slug":"samboora-encounter-lashker-militant-killed-2-others-escape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/samboora-encounter-lashker-militant-killed-2-others-escape\/","title":{"rendered":"Samboora encounter: Lashker militant killed, 2 others escape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<em>Mobile and internet services snapped across Pulwama, fresh protests erupt between civilians and security forces<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>At least one militant was killed in an encounter that between militants and security forces in Samboora village of Pampore town in <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/pulwama\">South Kashmir\u2019s Pulwama district<\/a>, late\u00a0on Sunday\u00a0night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing a tip off about the presence of some suspected militants, a joint team of Army&#8217;s 50 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Akram Dar Mohalla, Samboora, Pulwama\u201d, a J&amp;K police spokesperson said,\u00a0on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson said that as the joint team of security forces was carrying out the operation, the militants \u2013 believed to be three \u2013 opened fire triggering off the encounter. In the gunfight that ensued, one militant, identified as Umar, who was reportedly associated with the Abu Ismail faction of Pakistan-based terror outfit, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was killed. One AK-47 rifle was recovered from the encounter site.<\/p>\n<p>Unconfirmed reports said two other militants &#8211; Ayoub Lelhari from Lelhar Pulwama and Rehman \u2013 of the LeT escaped the dragnet and the security forces had launched a manhunt for them.<\/p>\n<p>Reports said while the encounter was raging on, locals came out of their homes and began attacking police and paramilitary forces deployed on the outer ring of the cordon.
