On December 25, the country marks Good Governance Day. The goal of the day is to educate people, particularly students who are the future of the country, about the government’s responsibilities and duties. The day also celebrates the birthday of India’s former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Good Governance Day is marked every year to raise awareness of the government’s responsibility among Indian citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The theme of Good Governance Week 2021 is Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur, and it will be observed as part of the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The campaign will be held in all districts, states, and union territories with the objective of resolving public issues and improving service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India has been celebrating Good Governance Day since 2014. It marks the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi created the day to honor Mr. Vajpayee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born into a Hindu Brahmin family on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. In 1951, Vajpayee and Deendayal Upadhyaya were assigned by the RSS to work for the newly formed Bharatiya Jana\u00a0Sangh, a Hindu right-wing political organisation affiliated with the RSS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On December 23, 2014, India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, was bestowed to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya (posthumously).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
