The people of Delhi are waking up to the breezy wind as the lowest temperature in the national capital is recorded at 7 degrees celsius. Even though the capital is grappled with the cold wind, the air quality doesn’t seem to improve anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the air quality in Delhi has slipped into a severe category today morning. The air quality index in the national capital is recorded at 430.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a slight improvement in the city, the air quality has again deteriorated from very poor to a severe category on Sunday morning. The air quality in the national capital improved from the severe to the very poor on Saturday morning with the city recording an overall AQI of 398.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, the air quality index in Noida was recorded at 349, making it the third most polluted city in the country after Faridabad and Delhi. Due to the significant drop in wind speed, the air quality in Noida has dipped to a very poor category over the last few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The air quality in Ghaziabad and Noida was recorded at 392 and 393 respectively. Gurugram also witnessed the very poor air quality on Saturday morning for the fifth consecutive day. The AQI in Gurugram stood at 349. The reason for the worsening air quality in the city is due to unfavourable meteorological conditions such as slow wind speed and poor ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the government agencies, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
