The results of the upcoming Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Elections were out today in the election, the Aam Aadmi Party came victorious as AAP won 14 out of 35 municipal seats, while BJP managed to win 12 seats. The Congress won eight seats and Akali Dal could only get one seat. The municipal elections in Chandigarh took place on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AAP MLA Raghav Chadha said that the Chandigarh municipal election is just a trailer. He further said that the upcoming Punjab assembly elections will be a full movie. The mood in Chandigarh is the mood in Punjab as everyone is voting for AAP now. Chadha concluded by saying that the initial trends prove that people have decided to give a chance to Arvind Kejriwal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What came as a major defeat for BJP was that both its mayors were defeated by AAP candidates. However, AAP’s election campaign committee head Chander Mukhi Sharma lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BJP’s Chandigarh spokesperson, Naresh Arora, said that only the final results will show which party’s vote base has shifted to AAP because BJP’s voters never shift their loyalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal said that the victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is a sign of the coming change in Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, in the last polls, BJP managed to win 20 seats and at that time, Akali Dal was its ally and they won one seat. Meanwhile, Congress won four seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
