India on January 1, 2022, reported a total of 22,775 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, while the tally of the Omicron cases rose to 1,431, with 454 cases in Maharashtra topping the list of states with the most number of Omicron cases, while in Delhi, total 351 cases of new variant Omicron has been reported. The Covid cases in the last 24 hours saw a huge humungous growth compared to the previous day. While two states are yet to report their official data of the last 24 hours to the health ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scientists across the world are saying that it is the start of the ‘third wave’. Ever since the new variant Omicron has came into the existence, the infectious virus is spreading like wildfire in the entire world. The US alone has reported 5,00,000 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, while the UK and France have been reporting over 1,00,000 covid cases per day for a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of now in India, a total of 1,04,781 active Covid cases are in India, while 406 patients died of the infectious virus in the last 24 hours. India’s total tally of people who died due to the virus stands at 4,81,486, whereas, the number of total Covid cases are 3,48,61,579.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
