However, the new note will not be available at ATM kiosks initially as it requires recalibration and thus, will be handed out\u00a0 through bank branches across the country.<\/p>\n<p>In a notification, the banking regulator said, new \u20b9200 notes will be issued \u201cin the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India from select RBI offices, and some banks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new denomination has motif of Sanchi Stupa (from Madhya Pradesh) on the reverse, depicting the country\u2019s cultural heritage. \u201cThe base colour of the note is bright yellow,\u201d RBI said on its website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntroduction of a new currency denomination and design is done keeping in consideration various factors like ease of transactions for the common man, replacement of soiled banknotes, inflation and the need for combating counterfeiting,\u201d RBI said.<\/p>\n<p>The circulation of this new note is expected to meet the shortage of \u00a0small currency denomination notes that have faced a shortage after introduction of demonetisation of \u20b9500 and \u20b91000 notes on November 8, 2016.
