Lord Krishna is the new entrant in the latest political battle in Uttar Pradesh just days before election dates are announced in Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his challenger Akhilesh Yadav are claiming their links with Lord Krisha, a Hindu God.

Without naming Akhilesh Yadav, who had last evening commented that Lord Krishna had told him in his dreams that he would come to power in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said Lord Krishna must be cursing those who were in power and did nothing for Mathura and Vrindavan.

Referring to the two holy cities of Uttar Pradesh linked to Hindu God Krishna, he said some people must be seeing Lord Krishna in their dreams and must be telling them to at least cry now at their failures. What they could not do, the BJP government has done, he said.

Apart from Adityanath and Yadav, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP Harnath Singh Yadav has claimed that Lord Krishna appeared in his dreams on Sunday night and told him that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should contest assembly elections from Mathura. On Monday, the MP wrote to party president JP Nadda urging him to declare Yogi as BJP’s candidate from the constituency.

Speaking at a BJP Kisan Sammelan in Mainpuri, Yadav had recently said that only Yogi can get the land vacated for the construction of Krishna Janambhoomi temple at Mathura.

Last week, Yogi Adityanath had told reporters that he would contest from wherever the party wants him to.
