However, there are elections in the five states and the political parties are going ahead with their rallies amidst surge in cases. Recently, a reporter asked Delhi Health Minister that why are they not considering holding virtual rallies to curb the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To which, Dr Satyendar Jain gave a befitting reply and said that their party has been putting up restrictions in Delhi due to the current situation but when it comes to elections, they will hold rallies as they are contesting elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further said, &#8216;Hum ab election na lade kya ab ( should we not contest elections now.)&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WATCH?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WATCH<\/a> | Delhi Health Minister &amp; AAP leader Satyendar Jain responds to his party holding elections rallies amid surging cases of COVID-19; says, &quot;Do you want us to stop campaigning in the elections?&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KanMNgdNlz\">pic.twitter.com\/KanMNgdNlz<\/a><\/p>&mdash; ANI (@ANI) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ANI\/status\/1478618373156077570?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 5, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same press conference, Delhi Health Minister said that the national capital is likely to witness more than 10,000 coronavirus cases today and the test positivity rate is likely to go above 10 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also said that the third wave has already been set in India and for Delhi, it is going to be the fifth wave. According to the new restrictions, private offices will be allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity.
