Recently, in a new study, it has been identified that there is a specific connection between a protein and an IncRNA molecule in liver cancer. If an INcRNA molecule increase in the liver patient, the fat depots of tumor cell decreases and as it decreases, there is a division of tumor cells ceases and they eventually die in the liver cancer patients. The study was conducted at Karolinska Institute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The findings of the study have been published in Journal ‘Gut’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the main focus of the research?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Generally, our genome gives instructions to our cells. It helps to determine each cell type’s highly specialized function. Then, the information is sent out using two different types of RNA molecules. These are coding RNA that converts DNA into protein and non-protein coding RNA that does not produce proteins. Since proteins are not produced by non-coding RNA molecules, they are not in the focus of research in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do researchers say?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The study’s senior author, Claudia Kutter, a researcher at the Department of Microbiology said that the researchers
are able to map both coding and non-coding part of our genome with the help of tissue material that was denoted by liver cancer patients. This helps to identify which RNA-binding proteins have a presence in liver cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What else gave been conducted by the researcher?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Besides this, the research team had conducted a more detailed study. It is about the specific pairing of an RNA-binding protein (CCT3) and an INcRNA molecule (LINC00326).
