A shocking incident took place on Thursday in West Bengal in which 7 people were killed and 45 were injured. In the train accident, 12 coaches of the Guwahati-Bikaner Express train derailed near the Maynaguri town of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal. The visuals of the same are being widely circulated on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports. 50 people who got injured in the accident were rescued. It is reported that 10 are critically injured, 24 of the injured were sent to Jalpaiguri district hospital and 16 were sent to Moynaguri government hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also reported that the passengers were trapped inside the derailed coaches and to open the mangled coaches, gas cutters were used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that he is personally monitoring the situation and he also spoke to PM Narendra Modi and told him about the rescue operations. He said that they will fulfill all the duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Narendra Modi also shared a tweet in which he said that Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and he is taking stock of the situation in the wake of the train accident in West Bengal. PM Modi further said that his thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Railway Minister told news agency ANI that PM Modi also took stock of the situation and rescue operation. Their focus is on rescue. Ex-gratia has also been announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the announcement, it was mentioned that Rs 5 lakh for death, Rs 1 lakh for grievous injury, and Rs 25,000 for simple injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
