It is now confirmed that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is all set to contest next month’s assembly elections from the stronghold seat Karhal in the Mainpuri district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the reports were doing rounds that he will contest from Karhal. However, now it is confirmed by Mr. Yadav’s uncle and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav. He said that Akhilesh would contest from Karhal and he would win record votes this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karhal is one of five Assembly seats that make up the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, which elected Mr. Yadav’s father, and Samajwadi Party founder, Mulayam Singh Yadav to the Lok Sabha five times. Karhal is at a 5 km distance from Saifai, which is the Yadav family’s home village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karhal has voted for the Samajwadi Party candidate in every election since 1993. The only time Samajwadi Party could not come in power in Karhal was in 2022 as BJP was teh one to win it. But later, Karhal turned to Mr Yadav’s party in 2007 and is currently held by Sobaran Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav while speaking to media persons said that if the party wants, he will contest the election. I had said earlier too that if the party decides, I will contest the election in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, Yadav is currently a Lok Sabha MP from UP’s Azamgarh and this week said he needed to ask his constituents’ for permission to give up the seat if he wins this election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other news, the OTT giant Netflix <\/a>has recently witnessed a massive decline in its performance in India. According to reports, the share value of NetflixIndia fell by 21.79% as of January 22, 2022. The reports also said that the investors have lost around Rs 4,500 crore in market value.
