{"id":26934,"date":"2017-09-14T14:15:43","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T08:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=26934"},"modified":"2017-09-14T14:45:47","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T09:15:47","slug":"facebook-issues-new-guidelines-content-creators-prohibits-inflammatory-material","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/world-news\/facebook-issues-new-guidelines-content-creators-prohibits-inflammatory-material\/","title":{"rendered":"FB issues new guidelines for content creators, prohibits inflammatory material"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>New standards and guidelines to help content creators ethically earn money through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/social-media\">social media network<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a bid to stop fraudulent business practices as more and more publishers join its platform, Facebook has issued new standards and guidelines for content creators to ethically earn money on its \u201cfamily-friendly\u201d network.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook\u2019s list of prohibited content include misappropriation of children\u2019s characters; tragedy and conflict; content that is incendiary, inflammatory, demeaning or disparages people, groups or causes; violence; adult content; sale or use of illegal or illicit products, services or activities and drugs or alcohol use.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook has recently introduced a range of monetisation options, including \u201cBranded Content\u201d and \u201cInstant Articles\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore recently, we\u2019ve been testing Ad Breaks with a group of publishers, and we\u2019re working on opening it up more broadly,\u201d said Nick Grudin, Vice President of Media Partnerships, Facebook, in a blog post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we continue to expand our monetisation offerings, it\u2019s important that we provide clear guidelines around what can and cannot be monetised on our platform,\u201d Grudin added.<\/p>\n<p>Those creators and publishers, who are violating Facebook policies regarding intellectual property, authenticity and user safety or are engaging in fraudulent business practices, may be ineligible to monetise using the features.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who share content that repeatedly violates our Content Guidelines for Monetisation, share clickbait or sensationalism, or post misinformation and false news may be ineligible or may lose their eligibility to monetize,\u201d the post warned.<\/p>\n<p>Creators and publishers must have an authentic, established presence on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>These guidelines also apply to videos on Facebook and will extend to \u201cInstant Articles\u201d over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKeep in mind that even if your content is eligible for ads, some brands and advertisers may choose to use brand safety controls to tailor where their ads run,\u201d Grudin said.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/facebook\">Facebook<\/a>, it will notify publishers if ads are removed from their content and they can appeal the decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may also like<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/minors-fb-post-flares-communal-tension-uttarakhand-21375\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minor\u2019s FB post flares communal tension in Uttarakhand<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New standards and guidelines to help content creators ethically earn money through the social media network In a bid to stop fraudulent business practices as more and more publishers join its platform, Facebook has issued new standards and guidelines for content creators to ethically earn money on its \u201cfamily-friendly\u201d network.
