Actor and former athlete Praveen Kumar Sobti, who essayed the role of Bheem in B R Chopra’s Mahabharat has passed away. He died at the age of 74. According to the reports, he died following a cardiac arrest later on a Monday evening. He breathed his last at his Ashok Vihar house in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the relatives of Praveen Kumar told news agency PTI that he had a chronic chest infection problem, and later in the night, he was feeling uneasy. After that, they called the doctor at home. Praveen Kumar passed away between 10-10.30 PM following a cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is reported that he is survived by his wife, daughter, two younger brothers and a sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For those who don’t know, Praveen Kumar was not just a brilliant actor but also an athlete who dominated the Indian hammer and discus throws for several years. He won gold medals in the discus throw at the 1966 and 1970 Asian Games. Moreover, he also represented India during the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games and 1972 Munich Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from this, Praveen Kumar also contested the Delhi Legislative elections on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket, but lost. Later, in 2014 he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
