The operation was still underway as two more terrorists were believed to be trapped in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, the operation started on Saturday night after army spotted suspicious militants\u2019 movement in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecurity personnel laid a cordon and started a search operation in the Kalgai area of Uri this morning following information about the presence of militants there,\u201d an Army official said on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne militant has been killed in the operation. The civilian population has been evacuated from the area and the operation is still going on,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/encounter\">encounter<\/a> comes a few hours after the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj launched a scathing attack on Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly for supporting cross-border terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>In another breakthrough on Sunday, the army busted a terrorist hideout in Handwara district and seized a large cache of explosive material and ammunition including an anti-aircraft gun. The hideout was busted by 47 Rashtriya Rifles in the forest area. No arrest has been made in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a separate incident security forces suffered casualties in the state.
