Asif, Syed Nadeem, Rehan Sharif, Nihan, Abdul Afnan, and Kashif have been listed&nbsp;as the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Home Minister of Karnataka, Araga Jnanendra said that apart from the eight official arrests, other suspects are being interrogated and he assured that the investigation is going from all angles. He also stated that senior officers, including 2 Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), along with the police force are a part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He went on to say that everything is under control and peace has been restored in Shivamogga and thanked the people for that. He gave the assurance that the police is taking the necessary action required at this point in time. He also remarked that there is no question of safeguarding anybody as a thorough investigation will be done and action will be taken against culprits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also revealed that out of the eight accused, five are aged between 20 and 22, while one is 32 years old. Investigation revealed that all of them have past criminal records. This incident took place on Sunday, February 20, amid the ongoing hijab controversy that started in the state of Karnataka. It was earlier said that there might not be a relation between the murder and the hijab controversy and the motive is yet to be established. However, links between the two are being surmised by some workers of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
