As the debate over The Kashmir Files has heated up, the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration have criticized the BJP for exploiting The Kashmir Files for political gain. The Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut accused the BJP government to seek political advantage from the movie Kashmir Files in the next elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the media, Raut said it is not correct to use a sensitive issue like Kashmir for politics as The Kashmir Files is just a film, it won’t provide any political advantage to anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He went on to say that by the time elections roll around, the controversy around the film will be over. Whether the events shown in the film are true or not can be discussed later, he added. Raut further said many aspects of the film are being called into question that are false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raut stated that many people are also saying there are many facts that were supposed to be shown but are not shown. Muslims were also killed at that time. Many officers’ lives were saved by Muslims, these are all things that may be included in the movie but aren’t, he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Shiv Sena MP, the film will receive a national award in the coming days, and the film’s producers will be awarded Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and other awards. “All of this is continuing to happen,” he said, adding that “Y category security has also been received.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand, New Delhi have declared the film tax-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The film, which depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s, has sparked debate since its release on March 11 with the BJP and opposition parties holding contrary views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
