The 64th Grammy Awards commenced in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Brooklyn-based Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab became the first Pakistani to bag a Grammy Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arooj won the prestigious accolade in the Best Global Performance category for her song Mohabbat. The official Twitter handle of Grammys announced Arooj as the winner and wrote that she is the first Pakistani to win a Grammy. The singer is also nominated for Best New Artist. She was nominated in the category alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Glass Animals, The Kis Loroi, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
