{"id":30580,"date":"2017-10-29T14:23:20","date_gmt":"2017-10-29T08:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=30580"},"modified":"2017-10-29T14:44:52","modified_gmt":"2017-10-29T09:14:52","slug":"police-constable-killed-two-terrorists-gunned-down-in-an-encounter-in-kashmir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/police-constable-killed-two-terrorists-gunned-down-in-an-encounter-in-kashmir\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Constable Killed, Two Terrorists Gunned down in an encounter in Kashmir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<em>JK Police constable Zahir Abbas was killed in the gun fight<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A police constable was martyred and two militants killed during an encounter which broke out between militants and security forces in North <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/topic\/kashmir\">Kashmir<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s Bandipora district in the morning hours of Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The security forces had cordoned off Mir Mohalla village in Hajin area of the district after receiving intelligence inputs about the militants\u2019 presence.<\/p>\n<p>The militants opened fire to break the cordon while security forces were engaged in the search operations, triggering a gun battle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe security forces started the search operations at around 6.25 am and the militants opened fire from a house at around 8 am,\u201d an official at the Bandipora police control room said. The official said that Jammu and Kashmir Police constable Zahir Abbas was killed in the gun fight.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, clashes were erupted between protesters and security forces after the gunfight raged at the site of the encounter. People took to streets and pelted stones on the forces.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second gun fight in Bandipora this month. On October 11, two Indian Air force commandos along with two militants were killed in an intense gun battle.<\/p>\n<p>The latest development comes after the appointment of Ex- Intelligence Bureau Chief Dineshwar Sharma&#8217; as interlocutor to initiate dialogue with all stake holders in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent statement, army chief Bipin Rawat had said that the appointment of interlocutor would not affect the armed force&#8217; operation in the valley where 160 militants have been killed during the year.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]JK Police constable Zahir Abbas was killed in the gun fight A police constable was martyred and two militants killed during an encounter which broke out between militants and security forces in North Kashmir&#8216;s Bandipora district in the morning hours of Sunday.
