{"id":30647,"date":"2017-10-30T17:35:13","date_gmt":"2017-10-30T12:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=30647"},"modified":"2017-10-30T17:35:17","modified_gmt":"2017-10-30T12:05:17","slug":"modi-meets-italian-pm-six-agreements-signed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/modi-meets-italian-pm-six-agreements-signed\/","title":{"rendered":"Modi meets Italian PM, six agreements signed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The case of two Italian marines is pending before Hague court<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni held extensive discussion on ways to strengthen bilateral ties and the issues faced by global community especially terrorism and cybercrime in New Delhi on Monday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two countries have also signed six agreements on boosting cooperation in the energy, railway sector, and promoting mutual investments. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Addressing a joint press conference with the visiting dignitary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that they have discussed wide-ranging issues, including the challenges posed by terrorism and cyber crimes, while agreeing to enhance cooperation to counter them. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prime Minister praised the strong ties between the two countries and said there were lot of potentials for both the countries to take bilateral trade beyond $8.8 billion.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said, &#8220;India and Italy have shared very good ties. There has been strong commercial cooperation. India and Italy can take their bilateral trade beyond the current $8.8 billion.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Italy is India&#8217;s fifth largest trading partner in the European Union with a bilateral trade of USD 8.79 billion in 2016-17, as per official figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to ministry of external affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, Sushma Swaraj had earlier called on Gentiloni and discussed issues of mutual interest.
