The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi on Saturday, April 16, was 40 degrees Celsius. As the temperature is escalating, the Indian Meteorological Department said Rajasthan is likely to face severe heat conditions during April 17-19 and Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Punjab from April 17-18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heatwave will continue in isolated pockets in Himachal Pradesh until April 18; over the Jammu division on April 16-18; over Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh during April 17-19; and Bihar and Saurashtra-Kutch in Gujarat on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The northwestern (NW) region of India, which has been recovering from a severe and very severe heatwave due to the Western Disturbance (WD) until last week, may get a similar relief \u2014 with temperatures lowering by 1-2 degrees Celsius compared to 42-degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although hot tides were seen in West Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, and the Ganga in West Bengal on Friday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43.7 degrees Celsius in Bangura, West Bengal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the IMD bulletin, maximum temperatures in northwest India will gradually rise to 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next four days and then remain stable; maximum temperatures in Central India will remain stable for the next 24 hours before rising by 2-3 degrees Celsius, and maximum temperatures in other parts of the country will remain stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius or higher include Chandrapur, Maharashtra (43), Daltonganj, Jharkhand (43.6) and Panagarh, Odisha (43.1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maximum temperature across Delhi-NCR was below 41 degrees Celsius, with the exception of Gurugram and Delhi’s Najafgarh. Delhi’s base station, Safdarjung, reported 38.7 degrees Celsius on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the fact that these maximum temperatures were lower than the 42-43 degrees Celsius recorded last week, they were three to five degrees above usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
