Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday explained his plan for the Lok Sabha 2024. Celebrating 21 years of its formation, he said it is time for the party to step out of its domestic turf and venture into national politics as his party steps formally into adulthood today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Calling for an alternative people\u2019s agenda for the country\u2019s progress and development, Rao said India does not need a political front or realignments with the sole agenda of removing the BJP from power at the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rao\u2019s comments came even as he has held a series of meetings as part of efforts to form an alliance against the BJP for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He met his Jharkhand counterpart, Hemant Soren, in March as well as Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and the NCP chief Sharad Pawar separately in Mumbai on February 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soon after the meeting, Thackeray\u2019s Shiv Sena and the NCP made it clear they will not join an Opposition front without Congress, which is a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government in Jharkhand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After his meetings in Mumbai, KCR vowed to fight against the divisive, communal forces and play a role in national politics to bring about a change in the country\u2019s governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing party leaders at the TRS plenary in Hyderabad today, Rao said some legislators have expressed the view that it is time for TRS to change into BRS (Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti). The TRS has already acquired land and is building an impressive party office in the national capital, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event is also expected to mark the sounding of the 2023 state assembly polls. The ruling TRS in Telangana is looking forward for a third straight term since coming to power in 2014, when the state came into existence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
