Sangeeta claimed the assault was sparked by a complaint she had filed against Bagalkot BJP General Secretary Raju Naikar, accusing him of harassing her over a property issue. Mahantesh, on the other hand, claimed that he did not assault Sangeeta because he was provoked by someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raju Naikar also dismissed the allegations, claiming that they were part of a political smear campaign against him. He claimed that he purchased the house legally, did not misuse his power, and did not instigate people to assault the woman. Sangeeta claimed that her uncle sold the house without informing her family. The case is still pending in court. She said that Naikar pressurised her to leave the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mahantesh is a photographer at Bagalkot’s University of Horticulture Sciences in Navanagar. According to reports, the woman and Mahantesh are neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
