The landmark trilateral summit of Russia, Turkey and Iran later on Wednesday in Russian resort city of Sochi is being seen as a turning point in the Middle East political scenario. It has become more important after Iranian President announced the end of military operations against terrorists in Syria and Iraq on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian President, while talking to media persons before leaving for Sochi summit, said that any attempt to change geographical borders in the region will fail. He also vowed Iran\u2019s resolve to continue its fight against terrorists until their complete eradication. <\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThese achievements do not mean that the issue of terrorism and <\/span>Daesh<\/span><\/i> no longer exists. But [the terror group’s] foundations have fallen apart.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Presidents of Russia, Iran and Turkey are scheduled to discuss the Syrian crisis especially in the post war scenario. Vladimir Putin met Syrian President Bashar al-Assd<\/a> met in Sochi on Tuesday when both leaders announced the end of the military operations. <\/span>T<\/span>he two leaders agreed that military operation is coming to an end and emphasised the need to launch political process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides, a number of preparatory meetings have taken place to set the stage for the trilateral summit. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Russian and Turkish counterparts Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu met in Turkey’s Antalya on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rouhani hailed the victories of Iraqi and Syrian nations in the face of Daesh terrorists and highlighted the role played by Iran and Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah in the regional fight against terror.<\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian military advisors and Lebanon\u2019s Hezbolah fighters were present in both war theatres: Syria and Iraq.<\/span><\/p>\n

He accused US and Israel for their alleged attempts to fan the flames of tension in the Middle East. However, he reiterated that the Iran will continue its fight against terrorists until it is eradicated completely. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rouhani expressed hope that the Sochi summit will help Syria to build a\u00a0\u201cgood future\u201d and emphasised that it is for Syrian people to decide their future which \u201cwill not be in the hands of foreign powers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Iran, Russia and Turkey are acting as the guarantors of a ceasefire which began\u00a0in Syria late last year. The truce is aimed to launch a peace process by bringing all warring sides to negotiating table.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since January this year, seven rounds of talks among Syrian groups have taken place in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the mediation of Russian, Turkish and Iranian officials.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
