Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Central government and shared graphs about India and Sri Lanka’s unemployment, petrol price hike and the rise in communal clashes. Gandhi said both countries look similar according to these graphs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He shared the graphs on Twitter and wrote that distracting people won’t change the facts. India looks a lot like Sri Lanka. Gandhi shared six graphics on his social media handle, three each for India and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the graphs, it can be seen how the unemployment started rising since 2017 in both countries and peaked around 2020- the year India imposed a lockdown to fight the coronavirus- and dipped slightly the next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second graph, the petrol prices of both the countries were compared, It showed that they started rising in 2017 and started soaring around 2021. The third set of graphs shows communal violence rising sharply in 2020-21 in both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka is currently facing acute food and electricity shortages and is currently in recession attributed to the foreign exchange crisis caused by a clampdown on tourism during Covid.
