The Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Saturday ordered the suspension of a controversial deodorant advertisement and asked Twitter, and YouTube to stop streaming of an ad called Shot by brand Layer’r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People familiar with the matter have said that action is being taken for the suspension of the distasteful advertisement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversial advertisement has been called out on social media for promoting rape culture. The ad violates the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules of 2021. The ad is detrimental to the portrayal of women in the interest of decency or morality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There have to be some regulations for ads man. That Shot deo ad is nothing short of disgusting actually. Even though I knew it was an ad and it wouldn't happen. The fear for a second I felt was real.
