As per the afternoon trends, the BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ is leading over his Samajwadi Party rival Dharmendra Yadav from Azamgarh seat. In Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, BJP candidate Ghanshyam Lodhi is leading with a margin of over 1000 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soon after Azamgarh recorded a voter turnout of 49.43%, the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed that his party members were harassed by the ruling BJP party and fake voting was done, while alleging that faulty EVMs were found in several booths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yadav had also said that the BJP misused power in the bypolls to Azamgarh and Rampur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hurdles were created by the ruling party to disrupt polling, though the EC was informed, the entire election machinery remained a mute spectator. Voters were not allowed to vote without fear. Fake voting was done, the SP chief had also said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Akali Dal leader Simranjit Singh Mann is ahead in Punjab’s Sangrur Lok Sabha seat, vacated by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. However, the trends are showing close fight between the AAP and SAD candidates at this seat<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The assembly bypolls were also held in Delhi\u2019s Rajinder Nagar, Andhra Pradesh’s Atmakuru and Mandar in Jharkhand`s Ranchi district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SP stronghold Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat was vacated after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav contested the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections this year and was elected as an MLA, while Rampur Lok Sabha seat was vacated by SP leader Mohd Azam Khan after he also won the recently-concluded state assembly elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
