PM Modi, party chief Amit Shah, L. K. Advani and several CMs \u00a0of BJP ruled states were present in the ceremony<\/em><\/p>\n

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) began its sixth term in Gujarat government with swearing in ceremony of its leader Vijay Rupani as Chief Minister, along with twenty other ministers in a glittering ceremony at Sachivalaya ground in Gandhi Nagar on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a>, party chief Amit Shah, senior party leader L. K. Advani, several union cabinet ministers and chief ministers of\u00a0 BJP ruled states were present on the occasion. State governor Om Prakash Kohli administered the oath ceremony.<\/p>\n

Nitinkumar Patel was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. Remarkably, five cabinet ministers belong to Patel community among nine senior ministers. One woman was inducted as minister of state. Vibhavri Dave is the only woman among 20 ministers.<\/p>\n

The Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states including –UP CM Yogi Adityanat<\/a>h, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Schindia and Chhatisgarh CM Raman Singh, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan\u00a0 and former Gujarat CMs Keshubhai Patel and Shankarsinh Vaghela were present at the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The leaders who took oath as cabinet ministers are: Nitinkumar Ratilal Patel, Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama, Ranchhodbhai Chanabhai Faidu, Kaushikbhai Jamanadas Patel, Saurabh Patel, Vasava Ganpatsinh Vestabhai, Radadiya Jayeshbhai Vittalbhai, Dilipkumar Viraji Thakor and Ishwarbhai Ramabhai Parmer.<\/p>\n

Moreover, ministers of state in the new government are: Pradipsinh Bhagvatsinh Jadeja, Patel Parbatbhai Savabhai, Jaydrathsinhji Parmer, Patkar Ramanlal Nanubhai, Parsottambhai Odhavjibhai Solanki, Ishwarsinh Thakorbhai Patel, Ahiur Vasanbhai Gopalbhai, Kishor Kanani (Kumar), Khabad Bachubhai Maganbhai and Dave Vaibhavari.<\/p>\n

Before going for the oath ceremony, Vijay Rupani<\/a>, along with his wife Anjali visited Panchdev temple in Gandhinagar. He became Chief Minister of the state for the second time. Earlier he assumed office of Gujarat CM in August 2016.<\/p>\n

Rupani began his political career as student activist with Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Later he joined RSS and subsequently joined Jan Sangh in 1971. He has been associated with BJP since its inception. He was imprisoned for 11 months during Emergency in 1976. He served as RSS Parcharak during 1978 to 1981.<\/p>\n

In February 2016, Rupani became the state BJP president, replacing R. C. Faldu. He was inducted as minister in the first cabinet expansion by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in November 2014 and held ministry of transport, water supply, labour and environment.<\/p>\n
