Anant Singh, a Bahubali RJD MLA, was given 10 years imprisonment on Tuesday in the AK-47 recovery case by a Patna court. The MLA was terminated from his position after an AK-47 rifle and hand grenades were recovered from his house. Anant Singh is currently an MLA from the Mokama Assembly constituency in the Patna district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On July 14,\u00a0Anant appeared before the MP-MLA court in a 2019\u00a0case involving the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, hand grenades, and 26 live cartridges\u00a0from his house in his native village of Nadwa. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison after the court found him guilty in the case. The highest level of punishment for the RJD MLA and his caretaker has been announced by MP-MLA court judge Triloki Dubey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His home in Nadwa was managed by a caretaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The police said that the AK-47 rifle was hidden in a hutment behind the box while the hand grenades were retrieved from the adjoining hut. According to the police, the AK-47 was uniformly wrapped with a plastic bag followed by layers of carbon fiber to avoid detection by metal detectors during transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the reports, the house of Anant Singh was raided in 2019 by the then City SP, Lipi Singh, under the Barh Police Station. The police said that<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anant is the third RJD MLA to get suspended from the Bihar Legislative Assembly in the last four years. In November 2018, the senior party MLA and former minister, Ilyas Hussain, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in the multi-crore bitumen scam. A month later, Nawada MLA Rajballabh Yadav was sentenced to life imprisonment in a case of raping a minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
