UAE<\/a>, has won Big Ticket lottery worth 12 million Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) equal to over Rs. 20 crore on Sunday. He was informed about the win by company executive. It was unbelievable for him considering someone was pulling a prank on him. The Big Ticket \u201cDream 12\u201d competition ran in December last year.<\/p>\nAccording to Gulf News, He was told \u201cYou are the Big Ticket winner of Dh12 million\u201d by the women executive at 10.05 morning. \u201cI told her about the call, but also said I wasn\u2019t sure about it. I asked her to check online to confirm\u201d he said to the newspaper.<\/p>\n
Nair immediately informed his wife, Nisha Harikrishnan in her office, who was stunned. \u201cDh12 million is a big amount! I was blank,\u201d she said. One AED is equal to INR 17.27 on Monday.<\/p>\n
She could not digest the news as reality. In a state of frenzy, she ran to her boss\u2019 office, and narrated what had just happened. Her boss, Naveen Natrajan, checked the lottery result on company\u2019s website and confirmed the news.<\/p>\n
Harikrishnan Nair began buying lottery tickets in March 2017. Nair said: \u201cI bought my first ticket then and lost. Then bought the second ticket in November, and lost again. Finally, I bought this ticket in December. With God\u2019s grace, we won.\u201d<\/p>\n
He was flooded with congratulatory messages and calls from friends and colleagues. But, the most memorable call was to his mother. \u201cShe didn\u2019t understand the winning of millions part. She just wanted to know when I was coming to see her,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to reports, Nair has not planned as to where he will spend the huge money he won in the lottery. He said: \u201cMost important is to save for my retirement and my child\u2019s schooling. The rest we will plan once we return from our trip.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nisha has her own priority of travelling and enjoying cuisines. She said: \u201cWe both love to travel and eat. So, we would like to do that and try new cuisines.\u201d<\/p>\n
Their seven-year-old son, Karan said: \u201cI\u2019ll buy food and toys. For my mum, I\u2019ll buy shoes and for my dad, a [car].\u201d<\/p>\n
There were four more Indians on the winners list. Minor Harkeerat Kaur won AED 90,000 and secured third prize, Rajesh Kumar Sharma won the foruth spot worth AED 80,000. Abhilash Sasi and Anil Thalakkale Veettil won 5th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> spot winning AED 70,000 and AED 80,000 respectively.<\/p>\nTickets to the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi are available online or at Abu Dhabi international airport, Al-Ain Duty Free of City Terminal Abu Dhabi. Ticket costs AED 500 and anyone buying two tickets has to pay for one under buy-one-get-one-free scheme.<\/p>\n
