Commonwealth Games 2022 began on Thursday in Birmingham with a grand opening at the Alexander Stadium. Around 200 Indian athletes will be competing in 141 events across 19 sporting activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first time in history, women\u2019s cricket will be making its debut in the multi-sport event this year. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, India is going to play against Australia in the first match of the CWG 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On day 1 of the tournament, viewers will see the Indian women’s cricket team, women’s hockey team, and Indian boxing team in action. Besides that, Anahat Singh, a 14-year-old squash prodigy who is among the contingent’s youngest members, will also\u00a0be seen in action on the first day of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
