Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao’s daughter Uma Maheswari was found dead at her residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills on Monday. Her dead body was found hanging in a room at her residence, the police said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She died by suicide but no suicide note has been found yet. A case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC (Police to enquire and report on suicide) and further investigation into the case is underway, the Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uma Maheshwari was the youngest daughter of Telugu Desam Party founder NT Rama Rao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and other family members are at Uma Maheshwari’s home, the police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NT Rama Rao, who is popularly known as NTR, had 12 children – 8 sons and 4 daughters. The Telugu Desam Party chief’s three sons including actor and former minister N Harikrishna have already passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Union Minister and BJP leader Daggubati Purandeswari and Nara Bhuwaneswari, the TDP President and former Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s wife, are her sisters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NT Rama Rao, who had floated the TDP in 1982 on the slogan of Telugu self-respect, was one of the tallest Telugu leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actor-turned-politician had created a record of sorts by leading the party to power within nine months, ending the Congress’s single party rule in then undivided Andhra Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
