Days after the Enforcement Directorate’s questioning Congress president in the Nation Heral money laundering case, the probe agency on Tuesday reportedly conducted searches at multiple places, including the newspaper\u2019s headquarters at Delhi\u2019s Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ED has raided around 12 locations including the offices of the newspaper in Delhi and several other premises linked to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the company that runs the National Herald newspaper founded by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This came days after questioning Gandhi in an alleged money laundering case in which she had appeared for three rounds of questioning amid massive protests across the nation by Congress workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ED had also questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in June for nearly 50 hours over 5 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WATCH<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Hitting back at the government, the Congress party said that the opposition’s questioning on crucial issues like inflation, and unemployment had put the government on the back foot. They are unable to answer the people of the country so they are trying to humiliate and blackmail those who are asking uncomfortable questions, Congress said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Gandhis are being investigated in an alleged National Herald money laundering case involving the Young Indian’s takeover of Associated Journals Limited (AJL). <\/p>\n\n\n\n The ED said the Young Indian also took over Rs 800 crore in assets of the AJL. Denying any wrongdoing in the case, the Congress said that the Young Indian is a not-for-profit organization and so, there can be no question of money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Congress leaders and workers have organized protests across the country against the questioning of the top leaders of the party.
