According to the Vedic Panchang, Ashtami Tithi will start on\u00a0August 18\u00a0and will end on August 19, 2022, so the celebration will take place on both days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Janmashtami 2022 shubh muhurat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Ashtami Tithi will start at 9:20 pm on August 18, 2022<\/li><li>Ashtami Tithi will end at 10:59 pm on August 19, 2022<\/li><li>Rohini Nakshatra will begin at 1:53 am on August 20, 2022<\/li><li>Rohini Nakshatra will end at 4:40 am on August 21, 2022<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Janmashtami 2022 rituals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The day of Krishna Janmashtami is marked by a lot of enthusiasm. A Krishna murti or idol is set up and worshipped. Makhan (butter) and Cheeni (sugar) are offered as prasad to Lord Krishna, as they are considered to be his favourites. <\/li><li>The Krishna devotees fast day long which can be only broken with the prasad after the puja. This is known as Paran (vow) to break the fast. Krishna&#8217;s birthday is also celebrated by performing aarti, kirtan, and bhajan. <\/li><li>Children sing bhajans and in some regions of the country like Maharashtra and Gujarat, people even celebrate the famous Dahi-Handi ritual. <\/li><li>Dahi Handi is an important ritual of the Janmashtami celebration. There is a handi or earthen pot filled with dahi (curd), makhan (butter), ghee, sweets, and nuts, which is hung at a height and then, a group of boys make a human pyramid to get to the handi and try to break it.
